Highlights from September 2022

Our Stake WSR leaders are knocking it out of the park by meeting with the ward WSR leaders, stake high council representatives, etc. to train, share ideas and learn from each other.

We met with our 4th and final Stake WSR couple. They fed us a delicious dinner in their beautiful home: They are helping us do a booth for an upcoming community expo in November.

My first ward Relief Society Activity. Take a look at this yummy tray of snacks. The women go all out in everything they do here. We did a step by step painting of the sacred grove with a wonderful artist. I was excited to have something to put on my wall, but it turned out horrible. But, we sure had fun together.

We finished off the visiting the last of our 4 stake conferences. These are our good friends, (and fellow missionaries) the McDonalds. This angel sister volunteered to cut my hair every six weeks. She refuses to let me pay her.

Here's a dinner Sister McDonald invited us to at her home with the AP's. This was super fun!

Elder Allred, Elder Lafaele, Elder Purcell

We did our very first departing missionary training. This was a 5 hour seminar which included lunch. We felt like it went very well. Our four sisters were lovely and we had a blast together learning how to prepare for life after the mission.

P-Day - Another spectacular hour of tennis. We found another free court. The last two times we have played tennis here, after playing 2 sets we sat at the picnic table and enjoyed our snack of pistachio nuts and cuties. YUM! YUM! We have so much fun!

2 wonderful days of Zone Conference:

These are departing missionaries that we will be doing a seminar for next transfer. These are the traditional leis this crazy group of missionaries do for their fellow departing missionaries who they have come to love and will miss. (Filled with candy galore)

This young man, Shaun Fletcher, met us briefly at a stake conference. A few days later, the Elders that were teaching him told us that he wanted Elder Kahmann to speak at his baptism on the Holy Ghost. Elder Kahmann did a beautiful job. I was asked at the last minute to play the piano. I was happy I had my music with me in the car. I only wished I would have brought along my sewing kit to hem his pants.

We finally got to go to the new missionary training

Our wonderful friends, the Grinceri's, who work in the office, took us to King's Park, one of the largest metropolitan parks in the world.

The State flower of Western Australia : Kangaroo paw

This friendly little Kookaburra let us get up really close and take a picture. Amazing!

The state flower is amazing. Reminds us so much of Hawaii, as well as the candy leis being piled on. It's silly, but we all look forward to it ;-). Beautiful sister missionaries!!
